Scalp and hair health, tracked

Your scalp changes slowly.
That is why it is hard to see.

FolliSense keeps a photo and symptom record of your scalp on the rhythm you actually live on, so thinning edges, breakage or a scalp that will not settle show up early rather than months later.

Built for textured hair

Braids, locs, twists, silk presses, relaxers, fades and waves.

Runs on your cycle

Check-ins timed to installs and cuts, not a generic weekly nudge.

Never a diagnosis

A record you own, organised so a specialist can act on it.

Most hair tracking assumes hair that hangs straight, washes weekly and is never in a style for a month. That is not how any of this works.

Who it is for

Textured hair,
taken seriously

FolliSense is built around protective styles, takedown days, retwists and barber visits, because tension, buildup and shrinkage are the things that actually shape scalp health for coily and curly hair.

That means the questions, the timing and the guidance are written for type 3 and type 4 patterns. If your hair is straight or wavy, type 1 or type 2, you are welcome here and the photo record and check-ins work the same way. Just know that some routine advice is shaped around wash days and styles that may not be yours.

For men

A cut every week is
a cycle too

Most hair apps have nothing for men beyond a hairline photo. FolliSense tracks the parts that actually repeat: the barber chair, the shave, the line-up, and what your scalp does in between.

Cuts and barber visits

Log a fade, a line-up or a full cut and check in around it, so you are comparing the same scalp at the same point in the cycle rather than whenever you remember.

Razor bumps and irritation

Bumps, ingrown hairs and soreness after a shave get logged as their own thing, so you can see whether they follow a particular barber, blade or product.

Hairline and crown

Guided photos from the same angles each time, so a receding line or a thinning crown is something you can see side by side instead of guessing at in the mirror.

Fades & tapers Line-ups Waves Locs & twists Bald & shaved Growing it out

Any scale describing hairline or crown change is a way of recording what you can see, not a diagnosis or a prediction. Hair loss has many causes. If you are worried about it, see a doctor or dermatologist.

How it works

Three steps, then it
runs on your cycle

01

Set your baseline

Four guided photos of your hairline, sides, crown and nape, plus a few questions about how your scalp feels. About three minutes.

02

Check in on cycle

Whether that is a four-week install or a weekly cut, check-ins land when they make sense and we track what changes between them.

03

Know when to act

If what you report is worth professional attention we say so, and package your record so a trichologist can pick it up quickly.

Reminders

The style has been in
longer than you think

Tell FolliSense when a style went in and how long you plan to keep it. You get a nudge as takedown week approaches, and again if it runs past what you planned, because four weeks has a way of quietly becoming seven.

The same works for retwists, wash days and barber visits. Reminders are built from what you told us, and they are a convenience rather than a rule. If a style feels tight, itchy or sore, do not wait for a notification.

Foli

A live chatbot for
the questions in between

Foli is built into the app and answers straight away, at 2am on a takedown night or halfway through a wash. Ask about buildup, protein and moisture, what to do about tight braids, or how to read your own check-in history.

Foli is automated software, not a person. No stylist or clinician is reading your chat, and it can be wrong, so treat it as a well-read friend rather than a professional. It does not diagnose anything and it is not for emergencies.

Products

Products that fit your
routine, not a list

Once your routine is set, FolliSense shows where the gaps are, mid-cycle scalp care, a clarifying wash, something for the days after takedown, and suggests products that fit. Browse by category, buy from a few select retailers. Nothing is chosen from your symptoms.

Product links to Jumia Kenya and Amazon may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Commission never affects what we show you.

Being clear

What FolliSense
is not

It does not diagnose anything, and it will never tell you that you have a named condition. It is not a substitute for a trichologist, a dermatologist or a doctor.

What it does is keep an honest record, and tell you plainly when what you have reported is worth showing to someone qualified, with your history organised so that appointment starts further along.

Only you see your photos

Stored securely and never shown to anyone else.

Treated as health data

Handled with the care that implies, not as ordinary app content.
